Liver Transplant Survival Rate at AALC
At the Asian American Liver Centre (AALC), we perform the Living Donor Liver Transplantation (LDLT). Led by the renowned surgeon, Dato’ Dr Tan Kai Chah, we performed the first LDLT in 2002. To date, AALC has successfully performed 240 LDLTs with consistently good clinical outcomes.

Overall Survival Rate
We have analysed liver transplant survival rate of the past 10 years (2007 – 2016). Patients transplanted for acute liver failure and malignancy were included in this analysis.
Non-Cancer and Cancer Survival Rate
Outcomes for liver transplantation vary significantly depending on the indication for liver transplant. For example, patients who underwent transplantation due to malignancy will have different survival rate compared to other indications.
The good news is that with advancements in immunosuppression, medical management and surgical techniques, the trend of patient’s survival has been continued to improve over the years.
Information updated on Sept 2016.
